Col. Clarence 'Bud' Anderson is a WW II Triple Ace fighter pilot and a veteran military experimental test pilot. During WW II he served two combat tours escorting heavy bombers over Europe in the P-51 Mustang, from November 1943 through January 1945. He flew 116 combat missions (480 hrs) and destroyed 16 and 1/4 enemy aircraft in aerial combat and another one on the ground. He is depicted here in June 1944 where, over Germany, he scored one of three Fw-190s. At the start of this mission Anderson had nine victories but by the end of this day his tally would be twelve.
